About This Project

Learn about the mission behind preserving and sharing the history of the Kenisha people

Hello, I'm Yodahea

I am an American-Eritrean born in America with a strong interest in history and cultural preservation.

As a descendant of the Kenisha people, I have a personal connection to the rich heritage and traditions of the Evangelical Church of Eritrea.

The Mission

My goal is to create accessible documentation about the Kenisha people that is available on the web for anyone interested in learning about this remarkable community. This project aims to bridge the gap between historical records and modern accessibility.

Through this website, I hope to:

  • Preserve important historical information about the Evangelical Church of Eritrea
  • Share the rich cultural heritage of the Kenisha people with a global audience
  • Provide educational resources for researchers, students, and community members
  • Honor the legacy of those who contributed to the development of the church
  • Create a digital archive that future generations can access and build upon

Sources & Acknowledgments

The primary source for the historical information presented on this website is the comprehensive work "Kenisha: The Roots and Development of the Evangelical Church of Eritrea" by Karl Johan Lundström and Ezra Gebremedhin. This invaluable historical documentation provides detailed accounts of the church's development from 1866 to 1935.

Special acknowledgment goes to the authors and all the individuals who contributed to preserving this history through their research, interviews, and documentation efforts. Their work makes projects like this possible and ensures that important cultural and religious histories are not forgotten.
